Welcome 3 Year Old Classes
Older 3's Lead Teacher
Ms. Lisa has been with us for many years as a lead 2 year old teacher, and now as the lead teacher of the 3's class. She was born in Brooklyn, and raised in Staten Island, NY. Shortly after she got married, she and her husband relocated to North Carolina. Ms. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wagner College in Staten Island. While in New York, she worked for the New York Childrens' Services, but after relocating to NC and having children of her own, she realized that type of work was too heartbreaking and emotionally draining. Ms. Lisa feels very blessed to now work in a preschool setting where she is able to express her love of children in a more rewarding way. She and her husband have a son, Aidan, and a daughter, Sofia. In addition, Ms. Lisa and her family share their lives with her stepson, who lives close by.
Ms. Melanie is a native New Yorker, who moved here thirteen years ago. She has three beautiful children and a loving husband. She adores children and has been teaching for over thirteen years. Ms. Melanie has degrees in English Literature, Musical Theater, and Art Theory and History, as well as holding a Masters in Elementary Education. She has worked the public and private sector and spent four years in the 3 year old classroom. She adores this age!...the moment everything "clicks" and the delight and true joy in your children's eyes. She is so happy to be a part of this program and cannot wait to "grow" with these beautiful children.
Ms. Miriam was born and raised in Brazil. Her passion to learn English and to work with children brought her to this country many years ago. She did not know a lot of English but she knew in her heart she wanted to become a teacher one day. Ms. Miriam has worked as a nanny for a few years, has learned English, and is currently working on her teaching certificate. Her favorite holiday is Christmas and she always goes back home to spend quality time with her family at that time...and it is summer time in Brazil in December. She loves to bake and cook Brazilian dishes, as her mother and grandmother were wonderful teachers of this skill for her. Her favorite things in life are her family, her job, and most importantly, Jesus.
Ms. Kathryn comes to us from Peoria, IL, from a family of five. She has an awesome fiance', Scott, and a beautiful daughter, Lydia, and two fur babies (puppies). She graduated in 2004 and has been trained in Early Childhood Education because of her love of working with kids.
